When you submit a drawing to the Art Portal, there's a check-mark that reads "This is not a sketch, include in the Art Portal."
'Uncheck' that and everything will be fine. (...probably. ;) )

to clarify: i know you CAN put sketches on NG, but i specifically am uniquely bad and terrible or something and am exempt from such normal activities, you see

Well, many artists post their sketches and doodles here, sometimes in a batch, or post them in news posts. I think it's fine, of course they are less likely to get high rating but anyway
